All Season, All weather, Summer or Winter What gives

All Weather Tires

  • Have the 3PMSF rating.
  • Meet the standard for winter driving as indicated by the snowflake/mountain icon on the tire (  ), though not as high performing as winter tires.
  • Quicker stopping speed in freezing temperatures
  • Strong grip on snow, slush and wet roads
  • Meet standards for summer and winter driving
  • Versatile enough to be used during warm temperatures
  • Don’t need to worry about storing tires for different seasons
  • Getting a 3PMSF tire to return a decent Wet Grip while not excessively wearing out in warming temperatures was a huge moment for the tire industry
All weather tires have a tread compound that stays soft and agile at much lower temperatures than all season tires. Despite their performance in harsh winter weather, all weather tires are still effective in spring rain, summer heat and everything in between

Winter Tires

  • Help Reduce braking distance on cold, Wet, ice and snow covered Roads
  • Winter tires on snow coverage roads on average need 6.4 Meters to stop compared to 12.1 Meters for All Season
  • Crash-Avoidance Technologies in todays cars require tires with adequate traction in all season to work correctly
  •  Stay Flexible in cold temperatures and ensure excellent grip and braking on wet Roads
  •  Maximize vehicle handling, stability and braking
  •  As good as All weather tires are Winter tires give you the safest option during cold snow filled Manitoba Winters
  • Meet the standard for winter driving as indicated by the snowflake/mountain icon on the tire (  ),
  • Quicker stopping speed in freezing temperatures

It comes down to cold, hard science: the rubber compound that makes up a winter tire is designed to stay soft in sub-zero temperatures, minutely moulding itself to all the tiny imperfections in the road to provide greater traction .

All Season Tires

  • Normal Traction for a wide variety of conditions
  • Made for Dry and wet conditions
  • Typically feature a tread that includes both large tread blocks for dry traction and smaller grooves for wet traction, helping to channel water away and reduce hydroplaning

All-season tires offer convenience and versatility, providing good performance in a variety of conditions, including wet and dry roads, and light snow

Summer Tires

  • Summer Tires are designed with a unique rubber compound, Summer tires Tread patter provided better grip on dry and wet roads
  • Stiffer sidewalls allow for sharper cornering and better control during “Spirited” driving
  • Shorter braking distances on dry pavement
  • Harder rubber designed to maintain performance and grip even in high heat conditions
  • Effective tread patterns designed to effectively channel water away reducing hydroplaning
  • Often favored by car enthusiasts and high performance vehicles as they provide optimum grip, handling and braking performance in warm weather
